GridPlay UPDATE!
Sorry we been quiet lately but we been working on afew projects that I like to leak to you all now.
First up is our new support portal. Previous blog posted about that.
Second is our MMORPG. We are still working on it. Using Unity 6 which has just been officially released few days ago.
We went with Riptide Networking by Tom Weiland to make it easy for us to dev the mmo.
Sadly with how Unity works a seperate account will be needed to play.
Meaning you won't be able to use your GPaONE to play Eclipse of Eternity.
Third we are currently setting up a OpenSimulator powered virtual world. Why? Because the Metaverse is awesome!
We do plan to customize the opensim code to fix some bugs, finish implementing features and improve stability.
For in world stuff we are working on housing. Free residents can get a 512 sqm plot with a home.
With the roll out of webRTC in the third party viewers like Firestorm, we do plan to write the code for the server to support it.
This is also needed because Vivox has cancelled support for new grids and it's starting to look like the end of vivox support is coming.
Region rentals will be possible soon for just $20 per month and will come with 30,000 prims.
As for currency exchange, we will be working on our own system soon and will be in CAD (Canadian Dollars)
So what is the name you may ask?
Well it's hosted in Canada, owned by a Canadian company so only fitting we call it CanadianGrid.ca (yes legit domain)
Currently with just 10 regions of writing this blog but with plans to bring up more soon.
Fourth thing to mention is that we have decided to discontinue and took down our wiki for stability and security reasons.
By the end of October we should have changelogs back up for each website.
Ventalkie update logs will be on the ventalkie website, etc.
However we do plan to code our own wiki system in 2025.
Fifth and hopefully last is GPaONE!
We see alot of good comments about it so we are looking into improving it including making the Socalite package available to Laravel powered websites.
YES! We are looking into allowing non-GridPlay owned websites to use GPaONE.
Furthermore with our own grid in the works GPaONE will support that grid.
Making a GPaONE account via SL and/or Canadian Grid will be easier, just type in your resident name for the grid, be inworld to get a special confirmation code then set password.
Once rolled out there will be no need to visit a inworld terminal.
ALSO GPaONE will also soon allow sign ups from other platforms like Facebook and Google.
One account for GridPlay!
So cool things are coming. Oh as for GridHaul, i have not forgotten. We will roll out a update for it by Christmas. Very sorry for the delay.
The update will NOT be version 3, just a url update.
